Features
Pre-mixed
The pre-mixed products include a universal carrier resin, providing the ultimate in convenience and handling.
Activated Foaming Agent
Includes a heat-activated foaming agent to clean hard-to-reach negative flow areas.
Pellet Form Factor
The RapidPurge proprietary pellet manufacturing process ensures that the original potency of the compound is preserved for purging.
Maximum Results
When necessary, equipment can be raised to the maximum temperature within range of the resin for a deep cleaning purge.

Instructions
Preparation |
Run machine to empty all production material. |
Injection |
Move barrel away from mold. |
Extrusion |
Remove screen packs to prevent blockage. |
|
Pre-flush systems with natural material for added effectiveness in removing color and contaminates. |
|
Raise temperature in front zone for added cleaning results. Never exceed maximum temperature of resident resin. |
|
When purging at elevated temperatures, always pre-purge temperature-sensitive resins. |
|
When using a chemical purge, cap vented barrels for maximum effectiveness. |
Loading |
Feed RapidPurge purge to fill system using metered scoop or hopper load method. |
Injection |
Purge will be visible exiting the nozzle. |
Extrusion |
Purge will be visible exiting the die. |
|
At high temperatures, starve feed to prevent bridging or collaring. |
Purging |
During purge, continue adding RapidPurge purge as required until resident material has been completely removed. |
Injection |
Increase back pressure to hold screw forward. Intermittent screw rotation will increase mechanical agitation and keep nozzle filled. |
Extrusion |
Reduce screw speed to minimum RPM. Ensure that back flights remain filled with purge material. |
|
For vented-barrel systems, vary screw RPM to change velocity through decompression zone. |
|
When using a chemical purge, effectiveness will be increased by adding a short, 10 to 15 minute soak cycle. |
Post-purge |
Empty system until all visible traces of purge material are removed. |
|
RapidPurge chemical purge compounds are excellent for shutdowns. Simply leave the purge material full in the system at shutdown. Upon start-up, bring equipment up to temperature, then operate machine to remove purge material. |

Activated Chemical/Mechanical Purging Compounds
RapidPurge Activated Chemical/Mechanical products are the ones that made us famous for supplying the most effective purging compounds available. These products include chemical agents that break down the molecular structure and viscosity of the resident resin. They also include an expanding foaming agent to reach negative flow areas, and mechanical compounds to soft polish the base metal.
Activated Chemical/Mechanical products come in various grades to match your temperature and viscosity requirements, and they are available in convenient pre-mixed form and as concentrates.

RapidPurge "no resin" products are ideal for particularly sensitive applications such as auto lamp lenses, where the introduction of a foreign resin during the purge process poses a problem. These products come in three variations including a basic purge, a purge with a heat-activated foam for negative flow areas, and a chemical/mechanical purge that is comparable to our premium Activated Chemical/Mechanical products for challenging purge applications.
"No Resin" products include no resin of their own, and are mixed with your resident resin which serves as the carrier during purge.

Activated — Filled Resin Purging Compounds
RapidPurge Activated — Filled Resin products are concentrates specially formulated for applications with a filled resin, such as glass-filled resin.
Activated — Filled Resin products come in two versions: a mechanical compound that includes a foaming agent to reach negative flow areas, and a chemical/mechanical formulation for more difficult purging applications.
If you have a special need, RapidPurge is the only purge supplier that will work with you to mix a custom blend to meet your exact requirements.
Pre-mixed Compounds
For the ultimate in convenience and ease of use, most RapidPurge products are available in a ready-to-use pre-mixed form that includes a universal carrier resin.
Concentrated Formulations
Many RapidPurge compounds are available in concentrated form. Using your own carrier resin, these concentrates are convenient and cost-effective.
