MP1000 Mechanical Purging Compound

 

 

MP1000 is a mechanical scrubbing compound for cleaning the screw and barrel of old colors and contamination.  The base of this compound is HDPE fortified with non-abrasive stiffeners to ÒscrubÓ the screw and barrel clean of any deposits.

 

This is not a chemically acting product, therefore, you do not have to stop the screw  to provide a soak cycle.

 

Following are guidelines for use:

 

  1. Move the barrel away from the mold to leave room for the purge to exit the nozzle.

 

  1. Maintain temperature and RPM settings for resin being purged from the machine.  As an option, it may help to increase temperatures a little on the screw tip and nozzle which will make the plastic more flowable on the dirtiest section of the screw.

 

  1.  Increase back pressure until it holds the screw forward.  This will give more scrubbing action as you run MP1000 through the machine. As another option, you can increase the screw rotation to aggressively fill the machine.

 

  1. Continue adding MP1000 which can be metered one scoop at a time or hopper fed until all contaminates are eliminated.

 

  1. Flush out MP1000 with your next material.  Adjust temperature settings for your next material and resume production.
